   Sometimes I have the impression that at some point in my life I must have entered into a mirror, like Alice in Lewis Carroll’s novel, to find myself in a world where everything is backwards: the corporals command the Generals, the robbers chase the police, the ignorant teaches the wise and the corrupt give lessons to the integrate. I do not know exactly when this happened, but it must have gone like this: perhaps mine is an amnesia caused by post-traumatic stress, such as those who are suddenly in another dimension and remain disoriented. The first impression is that of having lost the points of reference, then you begin to question seriously what could be the correct measure: the current or the previous one? The right measure was one where we lived until recently or is it the one we have now?
What have we found over the mirror: only an unreal world or reality? May be there really is a parallel world where the rules we knew have no value and there are other ones completely different.

    This must be the reason why many people who were doing their job with dignity in the public sector or private companies, suddenly began to feel a strange feeling of unease: they passed the mirror and were all at a sudden in a working world completely different than that from which they came from.
In the past the competence and professionalism were a value, training  and instruction were rewarded, education and experience had a certain respect and recognition. In this new dimension this is not worth any more: the winner is the incompetence, ignorance has the upper hand, the ineptitude and uncouthness reign sovereign. But this upset our parameters, and what are the basis under which all this can happen? The explanation is simple: just set up a world of work in which all the mechanisms and objective criteria for personnel management and career progression are cleared and is entrusted to the “authority” to decide on promotions and the placement of personnel.

    If then the ”authority” is an expression of a group of politically connoted power then you’re done: the government and large companies are magically transformed into a workshop “family run”; where you will exercise on their own a sinister patronage.
Here the company assumes the appearance of a big game of Monopoly in which those who have acquired a position of advantage over the other may impose duties and dictate the rules, surrounded by a “court of miracles”. For those who are not a part of the clan is ready a deadly weapon: the Mobbing, to make the game more exciting and can play with the skin of the people as colored pawns to be moved and manipulated. Behind all this there lurks a strong anomaly: there are a few players that instead of using their mail is playing with public money, it is as if one had to bet at the casino and played  with the money of the bank.

    But who are these unscrupulous gamblers who populate the gaming rooms in this magical world that lies beyond the mirror? Now that I distinguish better  their faces I recognize them! They are representatives of the ruling class! They are the social and political elites of a nation. They are those who have the task of being at the head of a country. I vaguely remember that once we were bewildered if from those who were selected for this role, there was someone who was not worthy.
Here, beyond the mirror, one is happy if in the midst of so much misery one has the good fortune to meet, among the ranks of the ruling class, some element of fair value.
 

    Suddenly I am pervaded by a strong desire to do the opposite course: will we be able to return to this side of the mirror? Alice was successful at the time to get out of her nightmare: sooner or later, would it be also possible for us?
